Look buddy, could you just keep moving? Nothing to see here.
This turkey scared me and gave a good chase. It jumped up about three feet in front of me in some head high weeds.
What is over there?
One of the creeks in which Jake and I look for snakes.
This is a brown water snake (I always thought they were called brownies). It has a fish in its mouth. The reason I really like this photo is that you can see the snake through the water. I actually talked about this snake before. It is a snake that has mimicked the design of a copper head. There are a couple of quick ways to tell this is a "brownie". First, it is in the water, copper heads don't really relish the water. Second, it is eating a small catfish, a favorite of brownies. Third, although it is hard to tell here, it does not have a triangular head. Last, its eyes sit high on its head so it can float just below the surface. Copper heads have eyes that are located a little lower on their head.
