We have all made them, some make them everyday…lists. At the beginning of the summer I made a list and for the first time since, I looked at it. I hate computers, they seem to remember things that the mind will forget, or at least the make a moment of truth in the past seem so clear in the present. I made the mistake of saving the list as a word document and almost half-way through the summer I only have two checks. That, my friends, is not good. So, I thought I would post them in a public arena hoping voicing these goals would inspire me, or make me accountable, or just because…etc.
1) Run 3 miles in under 30 minutes→not even close.
2) Camp (backpack) at least 5 times→I have not camped the whole summer.
3) Ride my bike for 50 miles in one day→ yeah right.
4) Get organized → I have only made more messes.
5) Keep a diary and a fun journal → Not once.
6) Take the dog out a lot → done.
7) Take a lot of pictures → sorta done, but could be more.
8) Study anything and everything that interests me at the time → nope
9) Lose weight → only if we count hair
10) See more of my friends and family → if anything it has been less.
11) Making changes in my life (that will remain personal) so I can cut this beard → and still it grows (although Maggie played peek-a-boo with it which was fun)
Now that I have voiced my goals maybe I should create small steps to reach them. Anyone have suggestions or goals….?
I hope to come back to this in the middle of August and see what checks I have made.
