We are back.

We decided to drive straight back yesterday so we could enjoy today at home. The trip was great, good weather, and good things to see.We started at "The Dune Climb" which is a natural sand dune that is about 200 feet tall. That does not sound that high until you try to walk up it. It was tough, although Jake seemed to enjoy it.

On the way down I decided to try to run and skip my way down, proceeded to go too fast, tried to slide, slide turned into a roll...slightly out of control but fun. The two pictures below show the start of the slide and the end of the roll.

After the climb we went on a scenic drive and did some hiking. Here are some pictures we took during the hiking and drive.

We then went back to the camp and ate and slept. We got up pretty early and hiked/drove most of the day. All I can say is the word "sand". Apparently this part of the earth is nothing but sand. We went to Lake Michigan and Glenn Lake. Jake loved both. The water was crystal clear and blue...awesome. Jake and I waded out into Glenn Lake about 150 yeards on a sand key, it was cool.

It took Jake a few minutes to get use to the waves but once he did he was all business. Although I took the growling to mean he did not like me holding him in the water.

Me looking for rocks.

We took a lot of pictures from the trails and I will not show them all here but here is an awesome picture from the Boss.

Ok, I have to take a second to commend the Boss on her patience and bravery. It was late in the evening and I wanted to take a picture of the sunset across the lake. We were not prepared (i.e. no water, no light...) for a hike. And, we have seen several warnings about how active the cougars were in the area. But, she hiked anyways, she voiced her concerns but did it. It was a little tougher of a hike than we anticipated but, we got some good pictures, I least I think they are good.

Messing with the camera's white balance:

There are more pictures I want to post, but, I do not want the post to get too long. Thanks to Ruth, Chuck, and Maggie for letting us use the truck, made the trip sooo much better.
